So today is Sunday, and I haven't written in a while. My life isn't too exciting, although I did decide to serve a mission a couple weeks ago. It's crazy I know. I never though I would go on a mission, but it feels like the right thing to do. I trust God enough to know that if I do what He wants me to, I will be greatly blessed for it. I'm almost ready to send in my papers. All I have left to do is go to the doctor/dentist and meet with my stake president. So, really I should be getting my call in about a month, and then leave in September sometime. I have a lot of preparing to do until then. I've been reading/studying the scriptures, Preach My Gospel , and Jesus the Christ, everyday for at least an hour, and going to do baptisms once a week. It quite a big change compared to my scripture study habits I had before. It pretty much rarely happened. I've also quit my beloved rated R movies recently. They will be missed. I figure I'm going to need all the blessings/help I can get before and during my mission, and by being obedient, I receive blessings. I need to put all I've got into this so I can be as useful as possible on the mission. I want to make my Heavenly Father proud! So that's that. I'm going on a mission!
Next subject. I'm finally becoming better friends with my roommates just during the past couple weeks. Me and my roommate decided to celebrate an early Easter this weekend. Easter this year is on April 4th, that's like the week before finals, and then general conference is in there somewhere. So busy busy. The other day we dyed eggs and decorated them. This morning my wonderful roommate Cody knocked on my door at around 9. She hid the eggs around the apt and me and my other roommate Lizy had to find them before we got breakfast. Oh and Cody made Easter baskets for us both too! What a gem. Anyway she had some really good hiding spots for those eggs. Lizy and I were both used to children Easter egg hunts where there are random eggs in the middle of the floor, in plain sight. It took us a while to find them all. I think there were 18...or 16. Which ever eggs carton has the 3 rows. So when we finally had them all, Cody had made us breakfast. Soda bread and this gravy stuff. Both of which were vegan! She used my egg substitute my soy milk, and my vegan butter. It was sooooooo good! Gosh! Anyway so that was this morning, and I had a delightful time at church! I think my favorite part of church is singing hymns. I used to hate singing in church, but that was only because I hadn't discovered the alto part. Most of you know my voice is in the deeper range. haha So yeah I can almost say I've become a master at the alto part. There are still a few songs that I'm not so sure about though. It's a struggle. hah. So when I got home from church I had the brilliant idea to make Johnny cakes. A few weeks ago I was watching the food network and on the show I was watching that's what they were making and they looked so yummy, and I noticed they were vegan, so I thought I would give them a try. They are very simple to make. Corn meal, sugar, salt, and hot water. Then fry them up. They weren't as good as I thought they were going to be, but not bad. They don't have much of a taste. And they definitely need syrup, butter, or a jam of sorts. Anyway, that was just a nice update of my life. Oh and I signed up for classes for Summer semester. I'm taking mission prep, corrections, psych, French (yes, you read that right, French.) I though I should spice it up a bit, and leave my Spanish comfort zone, not that I'm at all comfortable with Spanish, but I've taken it for 3 and a half years. Change is good, but I will be getting a tutor for it! Let's see I'm also taking drugs of use and abuse. Yep that's all. Sounds like this upcoming semester is going to be a good one! So yes. I think that is all! I will be sure to keep everyone updated on my mission status!
